BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – According to the ISIS terrorist group, its forces have killed three Russian soldiers in Deir Ezzor Governorate amid ongoing clashes throughout the central areas of the region.

Yesterday, the ISIS-linked Amaq news agency released images of three pro-government troops that ISIS forces allegedly killed in Deir Ezzor.

It is not entirely clear if the pro-government soldiers were killed near the Deir Ezzor city area or on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River as some opposition sources claim.

Also unclear is what exact military formation the three deceased soldiers belonged to. The pictures show some of the deceased fighters to have facial hair and non-standard uniforms, thus it is unlikely that even if they were Russian (which cannot be confirmed), they were not part of the Russian Ground Forces or any other official military service branch.

In line with the Al-Masdar News policy to not to show photos of deceased pro-government troops, the pictures of the three slain soldiers are not available in this article, but can be found on social media.
