BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:20 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their Palestinian allies launched another big assault in the southern districts of Damascus this week, striking several axes under the control of the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS).
Led by the Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army and their Palestinian allies kicked off today’s attack by storming the Islamic State’s positions inside the Al-Qadam District.
Following the attack on Al-Qadam, the Syrian Arab Army’s 42nd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division and Liwaa Al-Quds struck the Islamic State’s defenses at the southeastern corridor of Hajar Al-Aswad; they would score a new advance inside this imperative town.
According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Army and their Palestinian allies are now advancing at several axes, as Russian fighter jets repeatedly pound the Islamic State’s defenses.
In the coming hours, the Syrian Arab Army’s elite Tiger Forces are expected to begin their long-awaited assault on the Yarmouk Camp, which will mean the Islamic State will be under attack from one of the most important axes in southern Damascus.
