Sunday has not been kind to the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS); and it does not appear to be getting any better after their consecutive losses in the Palmyra (Tadmur) countryside this morning.
Making matters worse for the terrorist group, the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) carried out several airstrikes over the southeastern countryside of Aleppo, killing a large number of ISIS combatants in the process.
The Syrian Air Force’s primary target was the Khanasser-Ithriyah region; this is where ISIS has recently amplified their attacks in the past few weeks.
According to a military source at the Hama Military Airport, the Syrian Air Force destroyed ISIS’ primary headquarters in the Khanasser Plains on Sunday morning after Russian reconnaissance planes discovered its whereabouts.
This headquarters was used by ISIS to plan their attacks along the Khanasser-Ithriyah Road that leads to the Aleppo Governorate; this is also the Syrian government’s only supply route to the provincial capital.
