The Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAYF) carried out a successful mission on Thursday to destroy a sighted fuel convoy that belonged to the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) near the Rusheideh border-crossing into Iraq.

A security source to Al-Masdar News on Thursday that the Islamic State fuel convoy was traveling east of Rusheideh, when the Syrian Air Force struck the terrorist group’s supply vehicles in the eastern countryside of the Al-Sweida Governorate.

The Islamic State convoy was completely destroyed by the Syrian Air Force, leaving a large stretch of highway that was engulfed in flames due to fuel tankers.

Thursday’s attack on the Islamic State fuel convoy is the second attack by the Syrian Armed Forces near this imperative border-crossing from the Al-Sweida Governorate to the Al-Anbar Governorate of southwest Iraq.

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

There is no border crossing from Suweida to Iraq. Do you mean to Jordan? Or maybe not Suweida at all?
