BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:20 P.M.) – Syrian Arab Army forces have made a big advance against ISIS in Deir Ezzor, shattering one of the terrorist group’s main defensive lines within the city.

According to military-affiliated sources, the Syrian Army has made a major breakthrough against ISIS militants holding out in Deir Ezzor city, destroying the terrorist’s first and strongest line of defense and pushing them back.

Syrian Army troops reportedly attacked ISIS positions in the southwestern sector of the city. One source from within the army’s elite Tiger Forces has stated that the “strong” defensive line Syrian troops encountered was ultimately “turned to ashes.”

Reports go on to say that Syrian Army forces managed to penetrate one kilometer into ISIS-held areas of the city, securing the university building in the al-Harabisheh district as well as advancing another 100 meters beyond the Deir Ezzor stadium.

At the present time, Syrian soldiers on the ground have the privilege of being backed-up by air force attack helicopters which are level ISIS strong-points in the city.
