Four Syrian citizens have been brutally crucified before being shot in the head by the so-called “Islamic State in Iraq and Al-Sham” (ISIS) on a public street in the group’s de facto capital in Raqqa, Syria.
The slain civilians were executed for participating in the assassination of the top ISIS leader in Raqqa, “Abu Hija al-Tunisi”, who was killed in an airstrike last week.
The terror group released several photos of the execution, including a picture of two ISIS members wearing a black balaclava and aiming their pistols at the prisoners’ heads.
This vile act comes just days after ISIS suffered heavy losses in central Syria when the Syrian Armed Forces recaptured Palmyra and Quraytayn.
Since their inception in Syria, ISIS has committed unspeakable atrocities inside the areas it controls in order to intimidate the locals.
