BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:30 P.M.) – The Islamic State’s official media wing claimed on Tuesday that their forces killed at least 40 Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers during the battle for the Khanasser Highway in southeast Aleppo recently.
“Over 40 apostates were killed from the army of Nusayris and their militias in the rural southern Laloulayah,” the Al-‘Amaq (ISIS media wing) statement read.
According to the terrorist group’s media wing, the Syrian Arab Army soldiers were killed during the battle for southern Laloulayah, which is located southeast of the strategic town of Khanasser.
Of the 40+ killed, Al-‘Amaq alleges that at least two dozen Syrian Arab Army soldiers were killed by the Islamic State’s BMP suicide attack near the town of Umm Miyal.
A Syrian military source told Al-Masdar News on Tuesday night that these losses are untrue and that they suffered nowhere near 40 losses during the battle for Laloulah.
