El Estado Islámico de Irak y el Levante (ISIS) capturó la villa de Burj Al-Atshanah en el campo del sureste de Alepo el viernes, luego de lanzar una ofensiva para recuperar el territorio perdido ante el gobierno sirio en febrero.

Ayer, los terroristas pudieron establecer su control sobre el campo de petróleo de Duraham en el sureste de Alepo luego de una violenta batalla con el Ejército Árabe Sirio (EAS); esto pavimentó el camino para su exitoso asalto el viernes en la mañana en las planicies de Khanasser.

Actualmente ISIS está sólo a 15 kilómetros al este de la autopista de Khanasser; si continúan avanzando hacia el oeste podrán cortar la única vía de aprovisionamiento del gobierno hacia la Gobernación de Alepo.
