DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:30 P.M.) – The Islamic State has disseminated leaflets in the city and villages of Deir Ezzor, calling on male citizens to fight the Syrian Army alongside the group’s militants.
According to the statement, all male aging between 20-30 years must enlist themselves at any of the group’s security points. Those will be engaged in a training course before joining the jihadists in the frontlines against the advancing Syrian forces.
“Whoever fails to enlist within one week from this announcement will be forcibly deployed to the frontlines”, the statement read.
This comes as the terror group keeps losing more of its already shrinking territories as the Syrian government forces continue to advance toward the eastern city of Deir Ezzor.
In Raqqa, the US-backed Kurdish forces have taken over several district inside the city which once served as the group’s de-facto capital in Syria.
