BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:00 A.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIS) attempted to breakout of the southwestern countryside of the Dara’a Governorate this morning, pro-opposition activists reported via social media.
According to these activists, the Islamic State launched a fresh assault on the town of ‘Ayn Dhakar in the Yarmouk Basin region of Dara’a.
The Islamic State’s attack would then spread to the towns of Jaleen, Heet, and Sheikh Sa’ad.
No gains have been reported.
Today’s attack by the Islamic State comes just days after the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) announced that their next military objective will be the rebel-held areas in southern Syria.
