BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:30 P.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) has abducted several Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers in eastern this week, a source in Damascus told Al-Masdar on Wednesday.
According to the source, more than ten Syrian Arab Army soldiers were abducted this week while traveling along the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor Highway.
The soldiers were reportedly ambushed by the terrorist group and taken to an unknown destination in the vast desert region of eastern Homs.
At the same time, another three Syrian Arab Army soldiers were killed this week after their vehicle struck a landmine at the town of Al-Ghabra in eastern Deir Ezzor.
The landmine that killed the Syrian Arab Army soldiers was planted by the Islamic State fighters that were fleeing the town last year.
