Minutes ago in the southeastern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army’s 555th Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division and their allies imposed full control over 3 villages in the Khanasser Plains after a short battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) this morning.

According to a trusted military source in the Aleppo Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army’s 555th Brigade – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF), Liwaa Al-Quds (Jerusalem Brigade), and Kataebat Al-Ba’ath (Al-Ba’ath Battalion) – liberated the villages of Al-‘Aala, Al-Hayat Al-Saghirah, and Al-Hayat Al-Kabeerah near the southern bank of Jubboul Lake in southeastern Aleppo.

As a result of this successful military operation, the Syrian Armed Forces have now captured 10 villages from the ISIS in the last 24 hours, marking one of their most successful weeks in the Aleppo Governorate this year.

The Syrian Armed Forces have now shifted their attention from the Tabaqa Military Airport to the Jirah Military Airport that is located in southeast Aleppo.

The purpose of this advance is to cutoff the ISIS terrorists in Aleppo from their capital in the Al-Raqqa Governorate.

In order to do this, the Syrian Armed Forces will have to capture the Jirah Military Airport and eventually retake Deir Hafer.
