BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:55 P.M.) – The hits keep coming for the Islamic State (ISIS) forces in east Aleppo today, as they have now conceded another two villages and an important mountaintop to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

Backed by heavy Russian airstrikes, the Syrian Arab Army broke-through the Islamic State’s first-line of defense at Mount Salmah, forcing the latter to retreat east in disarray.

With Mount Salmah under their control, the Syrian Arab Army was able to impose full control over the villages of Rasm Al-Ahmar and Jubb Al-Qahwa in Deir Hafer’s northern countryside.

As a result of this advance, the Syrian Arab Army is now within 6km of the Islamic State’s stronghold of Al-Khafsa; this town is important because of its proximity to the primary water supply in Aleppo.

It’s clear that the less roaches there are, the less they’re likely to proliferate, including to our house.
