BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:00 P.M.) – It has been a rough week for the Islamic State (ISIL) forces in Syria, as they have lost a large chunk of territory to both the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

While the Syrian Arab Army did not liberate a large city like the Syrian Democratic Forces did in western Al-Raqqa (Tabaqa City), they did manage to capture several points east of the imperative Al-Shumriyah Mountains in northeast Homs.

According to the National Defense Forces (NDF), the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Legion liberated the quarries east of the Al-Shumriyah Mountains today, killing and wounding several Islamic State terrorists defending the area.

In addition to this advance, the Syrian Arab Army also launched a powerful assault along the main road to the T-3 Pumping Station in the eastern countryside of Palmyra; thus far, they have liberated the Talilah area.
