BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:30 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a powerful operation on Tuesday evening that targeted the Islamic State’s (ISIL) final points between the Deir Ezzor Military Airport and provincial cemetery.

Led by the Al-Qassem Group of the Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army managed to liberate several points over the last six hours, including a large swath of territory inside the provincial cemetery located just west of Deir Ezzor City.

According to a military source inside the provincial capital, the Syrian Arab Army is rapidly gaining ground at the northern perimeter of the airport, forcing the Islamic State to abandon several points.

If the Syrian Arab Army can liberate the cemetery and nearby village of Jiraya, they will be in position to finally end the two month siege on the Deir Ezzor Military Airport.

Good news indeed. I hope there are precautions against any US coalition aircraft getting lost and attacking the SAA again .
