BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIL) has had a rough few days in central Syria and their luck is not likely to change any time soon, as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) makes an imperative push towards the T-2 Pumping Station.
Backed by heavy Russian airstrikes, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies from Liwaa Fatemiyoun and Hezbollah imposed fire control over the Humaymah region of east Homs last night after liberating several hilltops from the Islamic State terrorists.
Following their advance on Friday, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies launched a powerful attack on the Humaymah area’s southern portion on Saturday morning.
Within two hours of launching this attack, the Syrian Army and their allies had seized the southern part of the Humaymah area, killing and wounding over 20 Islamic State terrorists in the process.
With the territorial advantage in east Homs, the Syrian Army will now shift their focus to the T-2 Pumping Station, which is the Islamic State’s last point before the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
