BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:35 A.M.) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) clashed with the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) in eastern Iran, yesterday, the state owned Islamic Republic News Agency (IRGC) reported.
According to the report released by the IRNA, the IRGC killed at least 16 Islamic State terrorists, while arresting several more militants in the Kermanshah Province of Iran.
The report added that one IRGC soldier was killed; he was identified as Major Ahmad Shohani.
Two members of the terrorist group managed to escape the scene and are now under siege by the Iranian forces belonging to the Najaf Ashraf, which is an affiliate to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
Three personnel of Najaf Ashraf base attained martyrdom in the operations carried out in ‘Bemu’ region, he said, quoted by IRGC News.
