DAMASCUS, SYRIA (12:55 P.M.) – Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) launched the 4th phase of their Mosul offensive on Tuesday, liberating the key village of Al-Shari’ah from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).
As a result of Al-Shari’ah’s liberation, the Popular Mobilization Units have officially cutoff the Islamic State terrorists from the Sinjar-Tal ‘Afar Road in northern Iraq.
“Our forces liberated the village of Al-Shari’ah today, which is located along the road linking Tal ‘Afar and Sinjar,” the Spokesperson for the Popular Mobilization Units said on Tuesday.
With Al-Shari’ah liberated, the Popular Mobilization Units can now turn their attention to Tal ‘Afar, which has been under the control of the Islamic State since mid-2014.
