BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:45 P.M.) – On Friday, the Iraqi security forces seized five hideouts and arrested several terrorists belonging to the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh), as they were hunted down on the second day of the Tarmiyah operations, north of the capital.
Al-Sumaria TV quoted the commander of the Baghdad operations, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, as saying,
“Today, during the second day of Tarmiyah operations, five hideouts were seized, one of which was underground, containing three rooms inside the terrorist headquarters, and inside it there are explosive devices.”
“The explosive devices were dismantled, and the terrorists who were there were arrested,” he added, noting that “the additives were hidden under trees in a difficult way to find them.”
Iraq announced the liberation of its entire territory from the grip of the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) terrorist forces in December 2017.
