BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:30 P.M.) – The pro-government Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) imposed full control over the strategic town of Ba’aj, Sunday, after a four day long operations against the Islamic State (ISIL) forces.

The Popular Mobilization Units were able to take full control of Ba’aj, following the terrorist group’s failure to repulse the PMU’s advance at both the southern and northern flanks.

With Ba’aj under their control, the Iraqi Armed Forces have secured the southern flank of the Sinjar area, which was once occupied by the Islamic State terrorists.

The Iraqi Armed Forces will continue to push south along the Syrian border, as they attempt cutoff the terrorist group’s last supply lines from Syria’s Deir Ezzor Governorate.
