BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:50 P.M.) – The Iraqi Armed Forces have liberated another town along the Euphrates River, further securing their imperative highway to Baghdad from the western part of the Al-Anbar Governorate.
Led by several units from the army and Hashd Al-Sha’abi (Popular Mobilization Units), the Iraqi Armed Forces managed to liberate the small town of Al-Samsiyah after overrunning the Islamic State’s (ISIS) positions earlier today.
With Al-Samsiyah liberated, the Iraqi Armed Forces have increased the pressure on the remaining Islamic State terrorists holding out inside the key town of Al-Rawah.
Al-Rawah is the last Islamic State stronghold in the western countryside of the Al-Anbar Governorate; it is currently under attack by the Iraqi Armed Forces.
