The Iraqi Army successfully liberated the Municipal Council Building in the Salahiddine Province, amidst, continued aerial bombardments by the U.S. Air Force on Islamic State positions in Iraq. Violent firefights are reported west of the building, towards the bazaar center. 16 members of the Islamic State were killed as a result of this operation.
In Tikrit, the Iraqi Army conducted successful operations in the western sector of the province. Sporadic firefights near the university have required air support from the Iraqi Air Force. At least a dozen Islamic State militants were killed, including a field commander.
Following the liberation of the Mosul Dam by the Iraqi Army and Peshmerga Forces, the former was able to liberate a checkpoint in Badriyyah from the Islamic State. Reports of continued clashes between the Islamic State and Iraqi Army have been reported in southeast Mosul.
