BAGHDAD, IRAQ (10:40 A.M.) – The Iraqi Army launched a large-scale offensive on Tuesday that targeted the Islamic State’s last pockets in eastern Al-Anbar and the key villages of Al-Shirqat and Al-Heet.

This latest offensive got off to a hot start on Tuesday, as the Iraqi Armed Forces, led by Liwaa Salaheddine, liberated 7 villages from the Islamic State terrorists near the key town of Al-Shirqat.

On Wednesday, the Iraqi Armed Forces overwhelmed the Islamic State terrorists at the strategic island of Jazirat Al-Haditha, liberating it after a short battle.

With the liberation of Jazirat Al-Haditha this morning, the Iraqi Armed Forces will now turn their attention to Jazirat Al-Baghdadi and Al-Heet.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

No. That above picture shows Iranian Army soldiers not Iraqi ones and those guns you see is the G3, a battle rifle of German origin- traditional rifle of Iranian Army. I know that because I was one of the Iranian Army soldiers who had shot with that rifle 🙂 .
