Moments ago, elements of the Iraqi Army’s 9th Division fully secured the Badoush prison after storming the facility, located northwest of Mosul, in the morning hours.

After dozens of inmates were freed, the 15th Brigade of the 9th Division pushed on towards the Badoush apartment complexes and the last villages prior to entering Mosul’s northwestern suburbs.

In 2014, ISIS militants executed 600 Shi’ite inmates at Badoush prison.

Meanwhile, ISIS began setting vehicles and tires on fire to block the Iraqi Air Force’s vision over Mosul.

Members of the Iraqi Federal Police were heavily occupied by patrolling the newly captured the Al-Tayaran district and 4th bridge amid reports of ISIS sleeper cells planning operations in the residential area.

Clashes also continued near the government buildings at the Dawasah neighborhood while rearguard Iraqi troops have captured approximately 80% of the Wadi Hajar district.

After severing ISIS’ only supply road between Mosul and Tal Afar yesterday, the Iraqi ‘Popular Mobilization Units’ (PMU) are now gearing up to storm the city of Tal Afar.

Very nice to see that ISF have learned from eastern mosul fault and keep attacking simultaniously from all sides and open as many fronts al possible to degrade Daesh possibility to move around fighters. Now they dont know where to send reinforcements.

Good job finally! If any religion promotes the use of violence and killing, then they need a new religion. Daesh must be wiped off the planet once and for all especially in the interests of Muslims themselves.
