The Iraqi Army, backed by the Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) and Federal Police, liberated the Old Bridge that leads into the western district of Fallujah on Wednesday afternoon.
In addition to liberating the Old Bridge, the Iraqi Armed Forces also seized the Al-Jamhouriyah District of central Fallujah after a violent battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) terrorists.
With these recent gains inside this strategic city, the Iraqi Armed Forces likely control 90 percent of Fallujah, leaving only a small pocket of resistance in the northwestern sector.
