On Saturday afternoon, the Iraqi Army’s 9th Division officially took control of the Yarmouk Power Station that supplies west Mosul with electricity.
Additionally, the Iraqi ‘Popular Mobilization Units’ (PMU) continued seizing ISIS-held territories in the western countryside of Mosul, advancing their forward units to positions just 7 kilometers west of the northern city.
At the Tal Afar front, the PMU seized the villages of Al-Junoubiyah, Al-Shamaliyah, Al-Kabirah, and Al-Saghirah. Meanwhile, combat helicopters of the Iraqi Air Force neutralized approximately 40 ISIS militants at the aforementioned villages.

Furthermore, the Iraqi Federal Police (IFP) fully liberated the Hawi Al-Jawsaq neighbourhood after storming the district yesterday. Around 20 ISIS fighters were killed during this operation.
IFP artillery units also pounded west Mosul with D-30 howitzers and Fajr-1 107mm rockets while ISIS militants are now under siege at the Al-Tayaran area.
Heavy clashes are still ongoing at the Wadi Hajar residential area in west Mosul.
Given the current rate of advance, the Iraqi Armed Forces are expected to liberate Mosul entirely within a couple of months.
