BAGHDAD, IRAQ (4:25 P.M.) – The Iraqi Armed Forces are rolling in the southern countryside of Mosul today, liberating several sites from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) after a long-day of battle.

Led by the 9th Armored Division, the Iraqi Armed Forces and their Assyrian and Kurdish counterparts began the day by liberating the key town of Bashiqa after a short battle with the Islamic State terrorists.

Following the liberation of Bashiqa, the Kurdish Peshmerga forces carried out their own assault in eastern Mosul, capturing the villages of Bakhdida, Sheikh ‘Amir, Baskhara, Tarjalah, Badana, and Qarqosh from the Islamic State.

Meanwhile, south of Mosul, the Iraqi Army, alongside the Nineveh Plains Protection Units (Assyrian paramilitary), liberated the historical town of Al-Nimrod, while also seizing the villages of Al-Khadr, Kani Harami, Quriyat Al-‘Abbas.

According to the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, their armed forces are now within 15 km of Mosul’s southern districts, leaving the Islamic State with their backs against the wall as they attempt to beat back the government-backed forces.

The 155mm shells have a 1m precision @42km, range can be extended to 50km with boosters… Send the coordinates of anything to the team and it receives a shell in the next minute… If necessary (risk of counter strike), they can move between each shot. In some ways, it’s even cooler to have such battery than air support as they will be around 24/7… Now let’s see who is terrorized…
