BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:15 A.M.) – The Iraqi Air Force launched several airstrikes over the southeastern countryside of the Deir Ezzor Governorate last night.

According to a military source, the Iraqi Air Force heavily targeted the Islamic State’s (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) positions at the town of Al-Sousah, which is located just west of Iraq’s Al-Anbar Governorate.

No further details have been released at this time.

Neither the Iraqi Ministry of Defense nor the U.S. Coalition has commented on these latest strikes.

The Iraqi Air Force has conducted airstrikes inside Syria in the past; they are often carried out when Baghdad has information regarding the whereabouts of some Daesh leaders or a command meeting.
