BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:30 P.M.) – Iraq notified the Syrian government on Tuesday of their intention to bomb several Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) sites inside the Deir Ezzor province, a military source in Damascus told Al-Masdar News this afternoon.
According to the military source, the Iraqi government informed their Syrian counterparts on Tuesday morning that they were planning on bombing a number of Daesh sites around the key town of Hajin.
The Iraqi government has made an effort to coordinate with Damascus before bombing any site inside Syria; this gesture has paved the way for improved diplomatic relations between the two historical nations.
Iraq often bombs Daesh targets in Syria if they have information regarding a terrorist meeting or the whereabouts of a high ranking commander.
These attacks by the Iraqi Air Force prove incredibly effective, as Daesh suffers heavy casualties within their ranks and severe damage to their installations.
