Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has claimed that terrorism in the Middle East is on the verge of collapse during an address on a live television broadcast on Sunday.

He then went onto stress that terrorism is a major threat to not only the region, but also the world, and this made fighting terrorism essential.

Rouhani said that states fighting terrorism wanting Iranian assistance are welcome just as Syria and Iraq have.

  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

I’d say Wahhabism is at least steadily collapsing at this rate. Sooner or later, I feel Saudi will end up splintering with some of its neighbours taking territory nearby. I could also see the Shia in the east having their own country as well as a Hejaz like state in the west if not Mecca, Medina and Jeddah becoming a Vatican city like state. Might get a few small states in the middle but they’d possibly be sparsely populated by wandering tribes. Just me though.
