Iranian Air Force Commander Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh told the Iranian news agency Young Journalists Club that “current and future generations [of air force pilots] are impatient and ready to fight against Israel and eliminate it from the Earth”.

He added that Iranian student pilots are currently acquiring the necessary knowledge to be prepared “for the promised day to destroy Israel”.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in wake of the statements that those who threaten Israel and vow to destroy it would bear “full responsibility”. He added that the recent Israeli airstrike had targeted not just Iranian forces allegedly stationed in Syria, but also the Arab Republic’s contingency supporting them.

Nasirzadeh’s statements come in wake of a recent Israeli Air Force airstrike in Syria.

An IDF spokesperson stated that the Israeli Air Force had targeted “military facilities of [Iran’s] Quds Force” allegedly deployed in the Arab Republic.

Syrian air defences intercepted most of the missiles, while according to Russia’s defence control centre, four Syrian servicemen were killed and another 6 injured in the attack.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on 15 January urged Iran to “get out of [Syria] fast”, warning that Israeli airstrikes against Tehran’s alleged military targets would continue.

The head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohammad Ali Jafari, responded by saying that Iran would keep “its military advisors, revolutionary forces and its weapons” in the Arab Republic, despite the Israeli threats. He also cautioned Tel Aviv against “playing with the lion’s tail”, promising that otherwise Iranian missiles would “roar and fall on [its] head”.

Israel has been carrying out airstrikes on Syrian territory over the last few years, claiming that they are targeting Iranian and Hezbollah forces and warehouses.

Tehran and Damascus have condemned the Israeli airstrikes on the Arab Republic on multiple occasions, calling on the international community and the UN to put an end to the air raids.

Humorous, surely unpleasing for many bloodthirsty anti-Semites, but so true!
At least, since IDF is usually careful about avoiding civilian (and even military) casualties, it’s more likely to end with Iran ready to annihilate Iranian regime since we can be pretty sure that all targets needed to fück up the regime chain of command are long time listed.

Given the title, is anybody surprised when Israel bombs near Iranian forces?

Iranian officials are blatantly violating UN-Charter with such threats. And these are ongoing for years on a +/- regular basis.
Moreover, if they, as they say, haven’t troops in Syria, such threats would make no sense.
In other terms, it implies also that IDF are right at acting the way they do!
IRGC gen. Salami said last July that he had a 100k manpower Islamic army ready to invade Israel from Syria, meanwhile, Iranian diplomats keep on saying they have no troops there…

@Daeshbags-Sux, Israel has been just as blatantly violating UN-Charter and A/RES/2625(XXV) = Declaration on Principles of International Law concerning Friendly Relations and Co-operation among States in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations.

p.s. Iranian lack of obedience of international law does not justify Israeli attacks on Syria. Iran is acting wrong and talking bellicosely on Israel. But that is no excuse for Israel to do the same to Syria. Got me?

Issrael is not attacking Syria. It is bombing, legally, Iranian forces that want to genocide Israelis. Self defense is always legal.

@Karel, so You claim the Iranian forces are there and want to attack Israel and not the US and Israeli payed terrorists?

Where is Israeli self defense in Syria?

Israel attacked by plane and admitted to have payed terrorists in South Syria.

@Karel, the strikes in Syria are still illegal – but understandable.

Any action against a potential genocide is legal. Furthermpre, there is the right to selfdefense. One does not have to wait until after being murdered.

@Karel, against “potential” is too vague. Do You legitimize self defense in attacking other countries that are not capable to do You harm? Syria did nothing and is still attacked. Syria ins in a defensive war against Israeli and US backed terrorists and spends a tenth of Israeli expenditure on military. Frederic the Great of Prussia said preemptive attack is defense. According to Frederic’s claim in the seven days war Israel only defended by preemptively attacking the Arab armies- Just like Germany in WW I. Currently Israel is constantly harassing Syria – claiming the defense against a putative future Iranian… Read more »
