The head of the IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) World Service, Peyman Jebeli, called on the US to release detained journalist Marzieh Hashemi during a press conference in Tehran on Wednesday.

Jebeli stated that Iran is calling for the “immediate and unconditional release” of Hashemi, who was reportedly taken into custody upon landing at St. Louis Lambert international airport.

“Last night, Tehran time, when she called her children, she said that she has been subjected to violent, illegal and inhumane treatment in prison,” he stated.

He said that the US government must apologise for their “inhumane behaviour” towards Marzieh Hashemi.

According to Jebeli, Hashemi was forced to take off her hijab and was offered pork in the meals she was given. After Hashemi refused to eat pork, she was “only given just a little bread and biscuits.”

Hashemi, who works for Iran’s English-language Press TV television news network, has reportedly been imprisoned for unspecified reasons.

The American-born journalist and television presenter, who had been traveling within the United States to visit her ill brother and other relatives, was reportedly detained at St. Louis Lambert International Airport on Sunday, and later transferred by the FBI to the detention facility.

Relatives had reportedly been unable to contact her for over 48 hours, and only recently learned about her detention.

Typical US process before expelling undesirable foreigners.
PressTV is an Iranian state-held propaganda agency. She should have declared herself as a foreign agent in the US-entry paper that are distributed in airliners before landing.

LOL. In pork, everything is good to eat… I just ate two excellent Viennese sausages BTW.
The only thing to know is that pork needs to be either baked or salted since it neutralises its natural toxin. Just don’t eat crude pork and that’s OK.
This one obviously forgot that not only pork is “harram” (banned) in her stupid religious book but so is moving/travelling to “Dar al-Kuffar” (land of the infidels), so she also has nothing to do in the USA. Practise what you preach!

And she can be happy customs didn’t performed a “cavity” search in her a$$ and vagïna… She would have said nothing had she been USAn taken into custody by the Basij (Iranian Gestapo) as she’d had been tortured to death or at best ended with serious injuries, just like the US-Iranian environmentalist scholar that was asked to come into Iran from USA by the Tehran university in order to help with the terrible water-crisis Iran faces and was then arrested by the Basij… He’s said being still alive but who knows for how long! Since the regime promotes public prayers… Read more »

Seems some have double-standards about what they call “inhumane treatments”, especially when they come from countries where you get capital punishment for non blood crimes and have a “secret-police” that tortures to death… And torture is a crime against humanity BTW…

@Daeshbags-Sux, double standards prevail all over. Especially among those that complain about “inhumane treatments” for the in-group and reserve/practise “inhumane treatments” for outsiders.

Yesterday : “Iran IRGC Commander Jafari warned Israel saying: “Fear the day that our precision strike missiles fall on your heads and avenge all the Muslim bloods you shed unjustly in the region.” => Funny fact : the Iranian regime killed way more Muslims in the MENA in 40 years than Israel did in 70 years. Actually, the regimes’ “Basij” (Gestapo) even killed more Iranians than all those who were killed by IDF since 1948 and the majority of these were participating illegal wars against Israel. Thus, if Jafari wants to avenge the unjustly shed Muslim blood, he should shoot… Read more »

Yesterday : “Head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards defies Israeli threats, says Iran will keep all its forces and military weapons in Syria”
=> Netanyahu will love it : this invites him to go on and proves the planned rise of military budget from $21.6bln to $27bln and the strikes into Syria are justified, especially once added to Jafari’s other threats on Israel…
Jafari should better pray Toutatis so the sky won’t fall on his head, since the GPS coordinates of IRGC HQs are well known…
