The Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Hossein Jaberi Ansari, has condemned the terrorist attack on a mosque in Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia. The attack killed atleast 4 people and injured another 18 following a bomb explosion and a gun attack.

“The repeat of terrorist attacks on mosques and Hussainiyahs in eastern part of Saudi Arabia reveals the worrying security situation in this region and the negligence on the part of security forces in performing their duties regarding the protection of various groups of people against terrorist attacks,” said the spokesperson on Friday.

According to a Saudi spokesperson, security officers attempted to stop two suicide bombers from entering the Imam Rida mosque in the town of Mahasen in al-Ahsa province during Friday prayers, but one blew himself up at the entrance of the mosque while other wearing an explosive belt was stopped by prayer goers and arrested.

Dramatic footage captured shows the explosive belt being taken off the second terrorist by those in the mosque.
