BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:50 P.M.) – The spokesperson for Al-Aqatdar 99 maneuvers said on Tuesday that for the first time, a joint offensive operation was carried out by the Airborne Brigade of the Iranian Armed Forces off the coast of Makran.
The commander noted, as reported by Al-Mayadeen TV, that the 55th Airborne Brigade of the Army Land Force, in the first phase of the exercises, carried out airborne operations via parachute and BMP2 personnel carriers.
“The Airborne Forces landed in the form of hundreds of paratroopers, carried by C-130 army aircraft, at the specified locations during a pre-planned operation,” he explained, stating that the “landing weapons and military equipment, included motorcycles and 107 caliber rocket launchers. and 23mm cannons.”
For his part, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Major General Hossein Salami, affirmed that “the maneuvers conducted by the Iranian Armed Forces are a warning to the enemy against committing a mistake in its calculations towards us,” adding that his country “is ready to defend its interests and its lands … and the political and security conditions will change in the interest of the people.”
In turn, the commander-in-chief of the Iranian army, Major General Abdul Rahim Mousavi, said that the maneuvers conducted by the armed forces in the last 20 days are “a warning to their enemies that their sons are intent on defending their country and their borders.”
Mousavi added, “Iran is not joking with anyone about its security and goals. Rather, it is serious and resolute in responding to any move or threat against it, and it will deal a fatal blow that will make the enemies regret.”
