DAMASCUS, SYRIA (1:50 A.M.) – Three videos released by rebel media outlets today documented the escalating aerial presence of the Russian Air Force over the skies of Idlib’s countryside.
Several Su-25 and Su-24 Russian bombers as well as multiple reconnaissance drones have been spotted as they bombarded Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham’s positions all over Idlib and especially in the town of Tamana’a positioned along the provincial boundary between Hama and Idlib.
This development comes following the announcement of general withdrawal of Russian forces operating in Syria by President Putin after the defeat of ISIL in east Syria. Those videos, however, show that the Russians seem to be reallocating their assets and resources to combat HTS in northwest Syria instead.
The massive operation to uproot Al-Qaeda in northwest Syria is expected to pick up steam soon when the full offensive might of the Syrian Armed Forces finish mobilizing in northwest Syria from the eastern part of the country where the operations against the Islamic State terrorist faction are drawing to a conclusion.
