BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:10 A.M.) – Fresh clashes erupted near the West Bank village of Qusra on Monday after a group of Israelis returned to the scene of last week’s deadly incident in a march led by a right-wing activist.
On Thursday, a Palestinian farmer was shot dead by a settler after refusing to move from his land while Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) helped extricate a group of Israeli hikers hiding in a cave who were being targeted by Palestinians throwing stones.
In the latest wave of violence, around 50 Palestinians began rolling burning tyres and hurled rocks after the Otzma Yehudit group marched on the site despite the IDF declaring the area a “closed military zone”.
Footage shows IDF soldiers firing tear gas. Palestinian media say live ammunition was also fired and one Palestinians was critically injured.
