BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:40 P.M.) -The Permanent Military Tribunal of Lebanon, chaired by Major General Hussein Abdullah, has sentenced to death the infamous terrorist leader, Ahmad Al-Assir, the National News Agency (NNA) reported on Thursday.
Assir was accused of playing a part in the Abra incident, with resulted in the death of 18 Lebanese Army soldiers.
In addition to killing Lebanese soldiers, Assir also aided jihadists in Syria during their campaigns in 2011 and 2012.
The Military Tribunal also sentenced Fadel Shaker to fifteen years of hard labor and stripped him of his civil rights with 800,000 lira fine.
Shaker was a once a popular singer before he decided to aid Assir in his crimes against the state.
