BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 P.M.) – The important Morek Crossing in northwest Syria has been reopened after closing last year due to violence.
According to the local opposition council in northern Hama, the Morek Crossing was reopened to the public on Thursday.
Civilians will be allowed to move through government and rebel lines as part of the agreement that setup the Morek Crossing in northern Hama.
The Morek Crossing is incredibly important to many business owners and traders in Syria, as they rely on access to both government and rebel areas in the northwestern region of the country.
While the hostilities continue in northwestern Syria, the reopening of the Morek Crossing is still a positive development for the people in this region.
