BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:35 A.M.) – Israeli Defence Forces released footage of its anti-aircraft Patriot missile intercepting a drone in the north of the country on Wednesday.
The IDF claim that an unarmed Syrian reconnaissance drone flew around 10 kilometres (six miles) into the North Israeli territory, before it was shot down, falling south of the city of Kinneret on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee.
Syrian authorities have not confirmed whether the drone was Syrian.
Hours after this drone entered the occupied Golan Heights, the Israeli Air Force carried out several airstrikes over the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions in the western countryside of the Al-Quneitra.
As a result of this attack, at least three Syrian Army posts were destroyed near the government stronghold of Hader, which borders the occupied Golan Heights.
