BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:35 A.M.) – Residents of the Sayf al-Dawla neighbourhood in eastern Aleppo were able to return home, Tuesday, just under a week after government forces announced that they had regained full control over the city.
Hundreds of families reportedly poured into the Sayf Al-Dawla neighbourhood after the Russian and Syrian demining units declared the area safe for civilians.
Several areas still remain unsafe for civilians to reenter in the eastern neighbourhoods of Aleppo City; this is due to the high risk of explosives that might be lingering around.
The Russian military announced on Tuesday that their demining units have cleared almost 1,000 hectares after more than four days of searching east Aleppo for explosives.
