BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 A.M.) – A huge stockpile of weapons was seized by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) this weekend while they were combing through the Dara’a countryside, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.
According to the SANA report, the Syrian military seized a large stockpile of Israeli and U.S.-made weapons that were left behind by the jihadist rebels in the eastern countryside of the Dara’a Governorate.
The SANA reporter said that the cache containing Israeli and U.S.-made weapons was found on Saturday in the farmlands between the towns of Um al-Mayazen and Saida in the eastern countryside of the Dara’a province.
“The seized weapons included anti-personnel landmines , Israeli-made tanks, various sizes of explosive belts, 23 mm and 14.5 mm machinegun ammo, various types of RPG rounds and mortar shells, in addition to large quantities of gunpowder used in the manufacture of explosives,” the SANA report added.
