DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:00 P.M.) – A massive explosion ripped through the insurgent-controlled town of Akhtarin in north Aleppo countryside, killing and injuring scores.
According to local sources, a booby-trapped car exploded near the city’s local council, killing and injuring at least 30 people, including members of the council, rebel fighters as well as civilians.
The explosion also caused substantial material damaged in the town.
Located nearly 38 km north of Aleppo city, Akhtarin in now controlled by a coalition of Turkish-backed rebel groups.
FSA rebels have immediately accused ‘Kurdish agents’ of carrying out the attack even though no one has yet claimed responsibility.
