According to the Congressional Research Service (CRS) in 2020, the US gave $3.8bn in aid to Israel – part of a long-term, yearly commitment made under the Obama administration. Almost all the aid given last year was for military assistance
Israel will receive a total sum of around $38bn in military aid according to the agreement signed by former President Barack Obama in 2016, which is due to run until 2028.
This is an increase to the deal former President George W Bush made with Israel, which was worth $30bn in total over a decade.
This excludes funds for missile defense.
