SANAA, YEMEN (4:00 P.M.) – The Houthis denied firing any missile towards the U.S. naval destroyer today, despite conflicting reports from the Pentagon.

“No missile was fired at any time by our navy today; furthermore, this act of aggression by the US-Saudi alliance will be met with a deceive blow by our forces,” the Houthi spokesperson stated on Thursday.

“Our forces are prepared to respond to the Americans if they provoke us,” the Houthi spokesperson added.

Yemeni activists have accused Saudi Arabia of targeting American naval vessels in order to provoke the latter to attack the Houthi forces and Yemeni Republican Guard.

or some country of their coalition i.e. UAE…
It’s simply the solution that makes the biggest sense : Houthis would simply be total morons if they attacked the US which aren’t in the conflict : if Saudis are already a big problem for them, the US are simply a too big fish!

The easiest to believe and most likely scenario is that the Houthis were emboldened by the destruction of the Swift, and that a bunch of uneducated, khat-chawing desert Arabs are, in fact, dumb as stumps.

They believed all their own propaganda that they had destroyed an American naval vessel in the Swift. So they figured that our modern, armed to the teeth Destroyers were as poorly defended as an Emirati passenger ferry that was once leased by the US Navy decades ago.

Yes, the Houthis appear to be that dumb. They may be fierce on the battlefield, but strategically morons.

The Houthis are a lot smarter than you think. People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Btw by implying desert Arabs are dumb you better be implying Saudis in particular. Yet Washington doesn’t dare sever links with the godfather of wahhabi/salafi terrorism.

The US Navy has elaborate defenses that are highly effective against non nuclear missile attacks. Many of these systems are on automatic fire. A missile attack occurs so fast the defensive systems engage automatically. The US Navy problem is each attack is opportunity for all watchers to learn defensive system. Practice makes perfect. If the attacks continue the defensive systems will sooner or later be defeated. Its not clear that the attacking missiles even had warheads. No proof that the missiles were recovered and turned over to alleged attacker or even kept for evidence. If US Navy is making accusations… Read more »
