SANA’A, YEMEN (6:40 P.M.) – Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, best known as Houthis, claimed Yemen’s Air Defense Forces hit a Saudi-led coalition F-16 fighter jet that had been conducting an air raid over country’s capital of Sana’a.
While further details are yet to be provided, a Houthi military source told Al-Masdar News that Air Defense division utilized a surface-to-air missile that had successfully hit the target.
Some sources have already announced that the warplane was shot down; however, this information is currently not verified and thus should be perceived with caution.
In a similar incident that took place on May 21, Yemeni Air Defense targeted a Saudi F-15 fighter jet, with Sana’a authorities later claiming the warplane was shot down.
