Paris. French police forces have reportedly surrounded the assailants responsible for the shooting at magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Two of the gunmen have barricaded themselves in a printing shop in Dammartin-en-Goële, northeast of Paris. Police believes these are the Kouachi brothers, who murdered 12 people on Wednesday. Around 9 in the morning, they stormed the small printing enterprise and have taken at least one person hostage. French police has brought helicopters, tanks and other heavy equipment and have besieged the attackers. The local school has been evacuated.

Meanwhile, at least five people have been taken hostage at a Jewish supermarket in eastern Paris. The terrorists, identified by police as Hayat Boumedienne and Amedy Coulibaly, were implicated in yesterday’s killing of a policewoman in Montrouge. Coulibaly and one of the Kouachi brothers know each other, and the incident is related to the Charlie Hebdo shooting. Conflicting reports indicated that one person has been seriously injured and two have been killed, but police later denied that deaths have occurred at the scene.

La Libération reports that gunshots have been heard in the vicinity of Porte de Vincennes in Paris’ 12th arrondissement. The ring road surrounding the city has been closed by police as the scene of the event is only 50 metres away. Metro stations Porte de Vincennes and Saint Mandé have also been shut down.
