BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:10 P.M.) – A high ranking jihadist commander was reportedly assassinated in the Idlib Governorate on Saturday.

According to opposition activists, the field commander of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, Ahmad Fouad Deeb, was killed on Saturday when an IED was detonated under his car in the Idlib Governorate town of Saraqib.

The opposition activists reported that Deeb was the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham military commander of the Badiya sector.

No group has claimed responsibility for this latest assassination in the Idlib Governorate.

Meanwhile, rebel activists have taken to social media to accuse the Syrian Arab Army’s sleeper cells of carrying out the attack.
