BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:40 P.M.) – Another high ranking commander from Jaysh Al-Islam has been killed in the East Ghouta region of rural Damascus this week, making this the third leader from the militant group to die from the jihadist infighting.

Numan Awad (AKA “Abu Issam”) was the chief of military services in the Jaysh Al-Islam organization before he was captured and then summarily executed by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham in the East Ghouta this week.

Jaysh Al-Islam issued a statement, today, in response to Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s decision to execute Awad; they are planning to avenge the death of their commander, despite the fact the infighting has weakened all opposition parties in the East Ghouta.

On Wednesday, Jaysh Al-Islam sent a large number of reinforcements to the Zamalka, Beit Sawa, and ‘Arbeen fronts in order defend their territory from their former allies in this rural region east of Damascus.
