Heavy clashes have been ongoing for hours, but Hezbollah have managed to break through Al-Nusra defenses with fire support from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

Before storming the town, the SAA launched a volley of at least 300 missiles to weaken the Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorist groups defenses. Al-Nusra had taken the town just weeks earlier from government forces, however with a large scale operation set to begin in south Aleppo in the near future, it is expected that the SAA and their allies will be making significant gains.

Al-Eis was also the site where terrorist forces downed a Syrian jet and captured the pilot alive.

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

Think they will have some tunnels in Al Eis to dodge air attacks and bombardment. Soon as it stops, out they come again. Drones may help locate the entrances. Trained dogs too later. Muslims don’t follow dogs, Russians do. Where do they run when a barrage starts? Putting a big smoke generator in one end will show the other entrances as the smoke comes out. Propane and oxygen mix is good to blow tunnels. Pump it in, then ignite it remotely. But those tunnels could also be useful to SAA etc. for same uses. If so, use poison gas, or carbon… Read more »
