Hezbollah has continued its operations in the Ba’albak Highlands this morning, targeting several hideouts that belong to the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) in east Lebanon.
According to several field reports, Hezbollah struck ISIS’ positions at Khirbat Beit Al-Agha in Jaroud Ras Ba’albak, killing several enemy combatants while also clearing more territory that was inhabited by the aforementioned terrorist group.
ISIS’ presence in the Ba’albak Highlands has become of great concern to both the Lebanese Armed Forces and Hezbollah because of the terrorist groups constant attacks and kidnappings.
Recently, Hezbollah and the Lebanese Armed Forces have intensified their operations in east Lebanon, targeting several sites that are under ISIS’ control near the Syrian border.
With the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) recent military operations at the eastern slopes of the Qalamoun Mountains, the need to secure the border from the fleeing ISIS terrorists has become paramount for the Lebanese Armed Forces.
